HOUSE FIRE 2/4/2007
On Sunday morning, February 4th, Kendall was called for a pumper and rescue mutual aid to the Morton Fire District
for a house fire on Kenmor Rd just west of Countyline rd. On arrival we had a fully involved 2 story wood framed
residence. Morton had also requested a pumper from Hamlin and a FAST Team from Holley to the scene. We later
supplied an ambulance to stand by at the scene with Monroe Medic 42 and our bus was called for rehab and warmth
as it was single digit temperatures throughout the call. Due to the extreme damage to the structure an inability to safely
enter it to fully extinguish the fire the Town of Hamlin Highway Dept. was requested to bring in their
Drott to demolish the house.

unknown other than between Kendall and Point Breeze. No accident was found, however fresh tracks where
some-one had gone off the parkway and managed to rock their way back on was found near West Kendall Rd.
Visibility was barely beyond your front bumper. Farther down the parkway near the Lakeshore Rd. exit we found

MVA – Roosevelt Highway & Norway Road

At approximately 4:00 PM on Tuesday, July 27th, Orleans Fire Control received a report of a motorcycle/car accident at the
intersection of Roosevelt Highway (NYS 18) and Norway Roads. The Kendal Fire Department Ambulance was dispatched
and the Monroe County ECC was contacted to dispatch a Morton Fire assignment. Due to the apparent injuries of the cyclist,
Mercy Flight was requested to the scene and a Kendall pumper was dispatched to set up a landing zone. Morton responded
with Rescue 218 and Pumper 215.

Patient care was initiated and the patient was packaged for transport to the Mercy Flight landing zone. Because of the short
distance to the landing zone, the patient was transferred to the Flight gurney and Kendall and Morton firefighters made the
manual transport eliminating any additional patient handling. Additional patient care was administered to the occupants of a
van also involved in the crash. The van not seeing the approaching motor cycle, turned directly in the path of the oncoming
cyclist.

5/16/2007 Gas leak at 1947 County Line Rd.
Just after 5:00 PM, on Wednesday, May 16th, the Morton Fire Department was dispatched to investigate a
report of a ruptured gas line at 1947 County Line Road in Kendall Mills. 2C11 was first due on the scene,
established Command, and reported gas free-flowing from a house connection. At that site, a home was being
demolished, with a large excavator and tractor trailer over the area where the gas was flowing.

Arriving Morton Pumper 215 was directed to set-up at a hydrant north of the scene, Morton Rescue 218 was
directed to block the road at the hydrant, and all personnel directed to stage with the apparatus. Command
then requested the Kendall Fire Department to respond with one pumper to set-up at a hydrant just west of the
scene and for a rescue truck with manpower. The Kendall personnel also staged at that hydrant.

Morton Fire Police secured the scene and fire police from Hamlin, Kendall and Brockport were requested by
Command to assist in closing all roads with incoming traffic.

RG&E arrived on the scene and after investigating the leak, and the position of the shut-off valve, requested
that the tractor trailer be moved to allow access to the valve. The move occurred without incident and the line
was soon shut down. After air quality was checked at the surrounding homes, and found to be acceptable, the
incident was declared to be under control and all units were returned to service.
