The Morton Fire Department was dispatched, at the request of 2C11, to assist the Kendall Fire
Department with a yacht, with four people on board, that had grounded on Lake Ontario near
the Bald Eagle Marina on October 13, 2007, at about 5:30 PM. The boat was entering the
marina when it lost power and was swept by waves and wind onto the shore just east of the
Marina. The family and personnel belongings were brought ashore and the boat was secured
with additional lines and with a second anchor out into the lake. The incident completed at
about 7:00 PM.
