Morton Fire Department
Structure Fire – County Line Road
September 21, 2007 – Approximately Midnight

The Morton Fire Department was dispatched to a reported structure fire at about midnight on the evening of the 21st of
September, 2007. 2C11 reported a working fire on the County Line Road. A Kendall tanker and a Holley rescue were also
dispatched on the initial alarm.

The fire appeared to have started in a mobile home that was situated between an occupied house and a barn, both very near
close to the original fire building and both quickly also on fire. 2C11 requested two pumpers from Hamlin and additional
rescues with manpower from Brockport and Kendall, along with a Kendall pumper to fill tankers approximately a mile from
the scene. After an initial interior attack was attempted, it was determined that operations would shift to a defensive mode
and a ladder was requested from Brockport to the scene.

This particular area has no hydrants and tankers responded from Hulberton, Hamlin, Walker, Carlton and Clarendon, along
with the Kendall and Morton units dispatched on the initial alarm. Following initial firefighting operations, and at least one
incident of no available water, a constant water supply was secured which later supported both ground and ladder
operations.
